ABOUT ÍSORKA

We started working on the project in August 2014. The goal of the project was simple – that everyone can offer charging to EV – From this idea, we worked hard to find ways to study communication with charging stations and linking payment system and apps.

In order to implement the ideas, it was decided to partner up with VIRTA (www.virta.global) in November 2015. Testing at charging stations in Iceland ended in February 2016, and it was clear that we had found the best software to work with.

The translation of software and apps was completed and ended in the summer of 2016. From there we started brand development and search for name, we needed a name that seemed most descriptive and open – Ísorka (Ice Energy) – was choosed

Ísorka officially opened in December 2016, and launched the first app in Iceland that shared live information about charging stations. Later the year 2017 Ísorka was the first to launch payment soloution and charging fee for charging at charging stations.
With charging fees the market can grow faster since it opened doors for operators to come to the market.
